Installing Catalyst drivers on Ubuntu

After screwing around with the drivers I got from ATI’s site (which were totally useless, it would just create and then delete a temporary directory with no error message), I decided to look further afield.  The solution was as follows (11.04, 64-bit):

1. Add this ppa to your system: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat/+archive/x-updates (follow instructions there)
2. Run update manager, install whatever pops up.
3. Run jockey (the Additional Drivers program) and install the driver you see (includes the Catalyst Control Center).  It should install with no problems.
4. Profit!
